The Laureate Program on Global Corporations and International Law (LPGCIL), Melbourne Law School, invites you to a discussion panel on the edited volume Race and the Question of Palestine (Stanford University Press, 2005) along with one of its editors, Dr Lana Tatour (UNSW). This timely and already foundational collection contains a wide-ranging set of essays by historians, legal scholars, political scientists, sociologists, literary scholars, and critical race theorists that build upon a long-standing tradition of theorising race in Palestine studies and speak to key themes of the politics of racialization and regimes of race, racism and antiracism, race and capital accumulation, and Black–Palestinian solidarity.
In conversation with Dr Tatour, among others, will be former UN Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance and current Professor at the Stanford Law School, Professor E. Tendayi Achiume, and ARC Future Fellow, Dr Jordana Silverstein. Other expertise on the panel includes scholars of discrimination law, race and extractivism, and race and international climate change law. The panel discussion will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.
